Testimonials

Monarch Christian School is an example of how God works to motivate parents to seek a godly solution to their need to have their children educated and motivates educators to make such a provision possible and available to those parents.  In 2010, a group of families joined forces to found a school that would challenge their children intellectually and nurture them spiritually; these same parents appointed a teacher who is now Head of School and overseeing a faculty offering a full elementary curriculum.  PAIDEIA, Inc. recommends Monarch Christian School to other parents in the San Fernando Valley.

'When our family moved to the area recently, we were overwhelmed with the prospect of finding a new preschool for our 2 and 4 year old.  The options were countless and after some research, I set out to complete 8 tours of various recommended programs in our neighborhood.  While some provided a Christian component, the academic strength was not as apparent.  Still others seemed to focus on strong education, but without the critical spiritual aspect we desired for our precious children.  Some campuses only offered large classroom settings, where the student-teacher ratios were unsuitable for focussed, personalized teaching.  Luckily, after all our searching, a friend told me about Monarch.  My husband and I attended an open house with our children.  It was there that we learned about the school's true commitent to Christ AND academics in the most loving environment and within a small classroom setting.  Since our children have attended, we can attest that the faculty at this school is comprised of people who have a passion for Christ and for teaching.  They get to know each child individually, instruct them in an engaging way, and are always available to speak with parents.  This school is more like a family, than an institution, and the competent teachers and administration are fully commited to excellence in all areas of a child's development.  Our children are happy and thriving at Monarch.  We have truly been blessed to find this school and are anxious to see the fruits of all the seeds that are being planted there!'

What a blessing Monarch has been to my family!  As an educator, my expectations were high when we started in the Zebra class last year. I was nothing short of impressed with the balance of academic rigor, explorative play, Christian teaching and hands on opportunities. Our son has flourished here and has recieved the attention and care he desires. I am not kidding when I say every person on campus knows who my child is...Not because he is naughty ;0), but because they all take the time to interact as a community. The teachers and staff are exceptional! Caring, involved, dedicated, and educated would be just a few words I would use to describe them.  You can tell when you step foot on campus that these lovely individuals have your child's best interest at heart. I have shared tears, laughs, family stories, child concerns and coffee with my son's teachers. They always have a moment to collaborate with parents in order to provide the best environment for each individual child. I can not praise Monarch enough and the positive impact it has had on my little boy. Mrs. Diaz and Miss Hannon are leading this school with true passion and expertise. I am truly SO grateful for Monarch and everyone who is part of this beautiful puzzle.

MCS has been an answer to prayer for our family.  It has been a life changing experience for my son. Before MCS he didn't like school, struggled with a few subjects and cried a lot with regards to school. All that turned around last year at MCS. He loves school now and is thriving in all subjects.  He is excited about learning and has taken ownership of all his studies.

The curriculum and the teaching methods are wonderful. They have such a hands on approach and the teachers really care about my boys. Where our other school looked at my son's difficulties as a problem for someone else to fix, Mrs. Diaz looked at it as an exciting challenge to get him to learn. I love the outside the box thinking and approach to teaching.

Thank you Mrs Diaz and the board at MCS. You guys work hard and it is paying off.  MCS is the best school and I look forward to many years to come and all the Lord has planned for MCS.

As a mom who wants the best education for my child, I started my school search a year and half before Justin was ready to attend Kindergarten.  After visiting 16 public, private, and Christian schools, I still felt unsettled as to where to send him for Kindergarten.  I wanted a school that has strong academics but at the same time fostered creativity in the individual child.  I desired the school setting to be a nurturing Christian environment where Christian character development is emphasized and children are pointed towards Christ and encouraged in their spiritual walk with God.   I found it was difficult to have both the strong academic curriculum and the Christian worldview in the 16 schools I visited.

After attending an information night, I was excited how the school represented all the things I desired for Justin’s education.  In particular, I was impressed by the strong academic curriculum that provides hands-on learning along with the Christian component of teaching the students to have a Godly perspective on their everyday learning.  I especially liked the One World – One Mission focus that helps students to see needs around the world beyond their everyday life.

We can freely talk to the board members, Head of the School, and Mrs. Ellis, the Kindergarten teacher, about any concerns we have and they welcome dialogue to build a better partnership.  We have witnessed the board members seeking and praying to God in the decisions they have to make regarding day to day and future aspects of the school.

Our son, Justin, loves MCS and is thriving academically, socially, and spiritually.  It warms my heart when he comes home and tells me about the Bible stories he learned in the classroom.  We love the small size of the classroom so Mrs. Ellis can focus her attention on individual students.  We love the great parents who volunteer in the classrooms and work together to better the school.  We love the fact that parents want the same Christian values in their kids and we can openly talk about conflict resolutions that need to take place between our kids.

We feel we have definitely made the right decision with God’s leading in sending Justin to MCS.  Monarch Christian School is a nurturing community for the students and their families!

"Monarch is different from other schools because the teachers try to do what God wants them to do - not just what they want.  I think everything is the best part of MCS - the teachers are great, all grades do Spanish, PE is lots of fun, there are after school activities, lots of field trips, and we still get good academics!"

When we decided to start our daughter at Monarch in February 2010, after we had homeschooled her the first part of the school year; as parents, we were a little concerned with how it would all go.  We knew she would be entering in a classroom where a bond was already formed among the students and that all the day-to-day procedures were already flowing smoothly for all the other students.  Mrs. Diaz and all the Board were so helpful and reassuring that they would help make this an easy transition for her, and that is exactly what they did.

Trusting that this was where the Lord wanted her, we dropped her off for her first day of 4th grade at MCS.  Her class was so welcoming when we arrived and made her feel like she fit right in.  When I picked her up she was all smiles, and said, “Mom it’s like I have been a part of this class since the beginning.”

Jumping in mid-year there were a few things our daughter needed to do to make sure she was on track with the other students when it came to her academics.  We would receive phone calls from the Board checking into see how Abbey was doing, and Mrs. Diaz continued to work closely with us, keeping us up to date with our daughter's progress and adjustment.   We appreciated all the care and interest everyone had for our daughter.

We are blessed to be a family at Monarch, where now 2 of our daughters are students.  It’s focus on God’s love for us and others, its nurturing environment, and high academics were exactly what we were looking for in a school.
